As we originally told you way back in August, Linda Hamilton -The Original Sarah Connor - is to come back for the new Terminator 4 movie, Terminator Salvation.

Linda revealed to MTV movies that she is to return to do the voice over for Terminator 4 and probably the following movies too, if as expectef Terminator Salvation proves to be a hit.

“We are talking,” Hamilton told MTV “I haven’t read the script yet. I don’t know what direction they will go in. My contribution would be voiceover, I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.”

She also spoke about the piss poor Terminator 3 movie which she thankfully refused to get involved with.

“They offered me a part,” she said. “I read it and I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character. She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.”

“I think [director] Jim [Cameron] was pretty clearly not going to be involved with the third one,” she continued. “His partner had sold the rights to the third one. Then they came back to Jim, but it was so far along after the fact that he’d moved on. And I wouldn’t be involved with it if it weren’t Jim Cameron. The third one was all right but it just didn’t have the heat and excitement that Jim can bring.”

McG has really pulled it out of the back if this goes ahead. He has been trying to win Terminator fans over from day 1 and guess what, the guy seems to be getting there. Now all he has to do is get the CGI Arnold Schwarzenegger to work and everyone will be happy and chomping at the bit for the release date of Terminator 4.

McG Talks Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation director McG  attended the New York Comic Con yesterday with a new reel of footage from the unfinished film and to answer questions from Terminator fans.

He also fielded questions about the Christian Bale tantrum which he made light of, suggesting that emotions run high on the set and perhaps more so for a serious actor such as Bale.

“That remix is pretty hot,” said McG, which got a laugh from the crowd and assured everyone that “(Christian and Shane Hurlbut) were fine that day” and that the two are “buddies” who worked successfully together for another month after the infamous incident.

The unseen footage was about eight minutes long and contained plenty of footage of the machines that Terminator fans have only before seen in brief clips in the previous Terminator movies. McG talked at length about the goals of the film, one of which was to portray the evolutionary steps leading to Skynet’s Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator model (the “T-800?). One of the other goals, McG claimed, was to show how Kyle Reese becomes Kyle Reese, “How he becomes the man who would sacrifice himself for John Connor.”

McG answered plenty of questions after the clip was shown and answered the one that seemed most pressing to the fans present; namely, to what extent were the events and timeline of the poor Terminator 3 versus that of T1 and T2 honored in Terminator Salvation. The answer pleased the fans as McG promised them that the spirit of the film was true to Jim Cameron’s original works but that there were aspects of the third film, such as the way Judgment Day comes about, that he incorporated into Terminator Salvation.

The other major question on everyone’s lips was of course about Arnold Schwarzenegger and would he “Be Back” or not. McG told fans that they were currently exploring a never before used method of bringing the Schwarzenegger character into Terminator Salvation although he said it would not be the Arnold Schwarzenegger of ‘today’ which got a laugh. As of yet McG doesn’t know if it will work but they are at least investigating the technique.

McG was keen to convince the Terminator fans present that he too was a big fan and that he had always planned to honor the original Terminator movies done by Cameron.

The footage certainly had the fans convinced so fingers crossed Terminator Salvation may well be a true Terminator movie.

James Cameron Refuses To Endorse Terminator Salvation

The creator and father of Terminator James Cameron has refused to endorse Terminator Salvation because he wants to reserve the right to “hate” the film if its a bag of sh*t.

The Oscar winning director launched the original Terminator series by directing and co-writing the original film in 1984 and its subsequent follow-up - 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

However, Cameron was (wisely) not involved in the third picture, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines in 2003 and the latest sequel titled Terminator Salvation.

According to Wired.com, Terminator Salvation director, McG, let slip that he sought Cameron’s approval for new film starring Christian Bale- and Cameron refused to give it.

“I didn’t want to feel like the guy who gave birth to the Terminator is against what we’re doing, so I go to see James Cameron to kiss the ring and tell him what I was trying to do,”

“He’s cordial but says, ‘I’m not going to endorse Terminator Salvation. I reserve the right to hate your movie. But I wish you well, and if you’re going to make a Terminator movie, I’d prefer you make a good one to a bad one’,'” the legendary director added.

Terminator Salvation Star Christian Bale Blows Oscar Chances

Terminator Salvation star Christian Bale has blown his chances of an Oscar nomination following the release of his three and a half minute rant recording into the public domain.

Bad boy UK star Christian Bale was hotly tipped for a nomination next year by insiders for his part in the not yet released John Dillinger film, Public Enemies.

MSNBC are citing Australian actor Russell Crowe as a prime example of how a simmering bad boy attitude may be good for the street cred but in some Hollywood circles its still the kiss of death.

MSNBC rightly point out that Crowe has not been nominated for any major awards since his arrest for throwing a phone at an employee of the Manhattan hotel, where he was staying in 2005.

Meanwhile the Terminator Salvation stars mother has spoken of her Sons outburst. Therapist Jenny Bale, 61, told UK newspaper The Telegraph that she hopes this will help the public understand last July’s incident before the Dark Knight premiere in London. If you remember she had reported him to the police after he allegedly assaulted her and his 40 year old sister, Sharon. He was arrested at London’s Dorchester Hotel and questioned by the police, but no action was taken.

The tantrum, recorded on the set of Terminator Salvation has been remixed into a dance song by DJ Revolution, and has inspired the design of a T-shirt!

Terminator Salvation star Christian Bale can be heard in an audio which recently surfaced delivering a long, profanity laced verbal thrashing to a cinematographer on the set of “Terminator Salvation” which he had been begged to star in to lend some credibility to the movie.

The three minute audio was posted this week on the Web site TMZ.com. In it, Christian Bale who portrayed Batman in “The Dark Knight,” turns on the cinematographer Shane Hurlbut for apparently walking behind his co-star, Bryce Dallas Howard and through Bale’s line of sight, considered a no-no on set.

“If you do it one more time I ain’t walking on this set if you’re still hired!” Bale is heard to scream in one of the few publishable moments from the clip. Later, he screams: “Do you want me to go and trash your lights? … Then why are you trashing my scene?”

The incident took place in July on the set at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, days before Bale would face assault allegations from his mother and sister in London. Charges were never filed but the guy obviously has a few anger issues.

Four relatives of Terminator Salvation star Helena Bonham Carter died in a minibus crash while on a safari vacation in South Africa on Wednesday, the UK newspaper The Telegraph is reporting.

Because of the tragedy, the actress is reported to have left the set of Terminator Salvation in Albuquerque, New Mexico to fly back to the UK to be with her cousin. It is believed her boyfriend, Tim Burton has made the trip with her.

Fiona Bonham Carter, Helena’s cousin, survived with a broken collar bone, along with one of her sons, Piers, who suffered whiplash. However, Fiona’s 14-year-old son Marcus Egerton-Warburton, mother Brenda Bonham Carter, stepfather Francis Kirkwood and sister-in-law Kay Boardman all perished after a burst tire flipped their vehicle while on safari in a remote area some distance outside Johannesburg.

McG Tells Terminator Salvation Cast To Hit The Road

McG is talking the talk. Following recent statements saying he wants Terminater Salvation to resemble Batman Begins or even James Cameron’s Aliens, he’s now told fans that he has given the cast “The Road” to read.

“I gave all the actors ‘The Road’ to read to get their heads right bout this sort of existential detachment that living in a post apocalyptic world would bring,” McG revealed. “We’re in a very large post apocalyptic environment. The bombs have gone off and there’s very little left. People are wandering through lonely landscapes. We want to capture that by way of David Lean photographic expanses, so you think you’re looking at ‘Lawrence of Arabia.’ So far, so good.”

“The Road” is the story of a father and son traveling together some time after mankind was almost wiped out following a worldwide disaster. It paints a bleak picture of fear and despair and strangely enough, comes out itself as a movie later this year.

Hopefully this means Terminator Salvation will be a more serious affair than T3 and McG is making all the right noises.

“I think the first two pictures took those ideas so seriously, “We wanted to make sure we did that as well.” McG said of the themes of despair and dread.
